Raising the Majstång
The League of Swedish Societies celebrates the
97th Annual Portland Midsummer
on June 15th, 2024.
Join us as we raise the iconic Majstång (Midsummer pole), decorated with
traditional birch and flowers.
The Majstång will be raised at 1pm accompanied by music and dancing.
The Portland Nordic Chorus will again lend their voices in traditional Swedish songs.

Also, if you have flowers to spare from your garden, bring them to add to the Majstång!
The League of Swedish Societies has presented the annual Midsummer Festival since 1928. The Portland Midsummer Festival received designation from the Oregon Heritage Commission as an "Oregon Heritage Tradition".
